Media assets can be scheduled to play between certain dates and times but will remain in the Playlist once their scheduling has expired.
This might be useful if you wish to reuse this media and simply amend the schedule, however, for some time or date-sensitive media that will no longer be required, this may allow the playlist to become cluttered.
To prevent multiple expired media files from cluttering your Playlist, these expired pieces of media can be automatically removed once they expire.
To do this we need to look at the media files located in your Playlist in more detail.
Firstly click on the button down the left-hand side and select the Playlist you wish to look at.
Now place your mouse over the media asset you wish to set to expire. You should see a selection of icons as shown below
Click on the icon that is like a Pencil. This is the Edit Media Information button.
You should not see the information about this piece of media as shown below.
To set the expiration date and time of the media, check the box called "Expiry Date" This will now allow you to set the expiry date and expiry time.
Now make sure that you "Save" your changes
And finally "Publish" your changes to your account to update the Live system
