Supported Content types

digitalsignage.NET - Core Edition can take images, videos, HTML and www.webpages.  

Images

Images should be created in JPG, BMP or PNG format.

Image resolution should be no higher that 1920 pixels x 1080 pixels for Landscape displays and 1080 pixels x 1920 pixels for Portrait displays. The DPI of the image should not be greater than 72 DPI.

Video

Videos can be accepted in most industry standard formats, i.e. mp4, AVI and.mov, as they are automatically transcoded into H.264. Mov format. This allows them to be compatible with most modern media playback devices and displays with embedded media players.

If you are creating your own videos for use on Android media playback devices, please ensure that your video is created in no higher a resolution of 1920 pixels x 1080 pixels for Landscape displays and 1080 pixels x 1920 pixel for Portrait displays. The video should be created at 30fps (Frames per second) and 10Mbps (Megabytes per second) for smooth playback.

Windows devices with dedicated graphic cards may support a higher resolution and frame rate.

We also use this transcoding process to create a thumbnail image that will appear in your media store after the video has been uploaded and added to your media store.

We do not support PowerPoint directly, however, most versions allow you to output your presentation into images or Video. These formats can then be uploaded to your Media store for playback.

We do not support PDF, Word, Excel or any items classed as documents.
